Visegrad Shorts on Tour 2012 - Regulations

Daazo.com opens a call for films supported by The Visegrad Fund in cooperation with Kino Praha, OZ Publikum.sk and Polishorts.

Visegrad Shorts on Tour

General Rules

Only legal citizens of Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland may submit films to the “Visegrad Shorts on Tour” competition organized by Daazo.com - the European Shortfilm Centre legally represented by Daazo Film and Media Ltd.
Individuals submitting films to the “Visegrad Shorts on Tour” competition organized by Daazo Film and Media Ltd. should be at least 18 years of age or under 35 years of age at the time of the competition (end date of event: 18th of April 2012).

Film uploading requirements

Entrants may upload more than one film.
There is no submission fee for the upload of films.
The films uploaded for the “Visegrad Shorts on Tour” competition should have been produced beginning from 1st January 2009, or later.
There are no restrictions regarding the genre and theme of the films.
The duration of the film (credits included) should not exceed 20 minutes.
The films should be uploaded in HD, and must not exceed 500MB of fle size.
In case the film contains dialogue in a language other than English, the film must contain English subtitles.
Entrants agree that their film will become visible - and not password protected - online after the projections in the Visegrad countries have taken place (18th of April 2012) for an undetermined period.

Deadlines

The submission process (for all three competitions: Visegrad Shortfilm Award; Audience Award; Online Competition) opens on 29th February, 2012.
The submission process (for all three competitions: Visegrad Shortfilm Award; Audience Award; Online Competition) closes on 23th March, 2012 at 23:59, C.E.T.

The online voting for the Online Competition Award will begin on 18th February, 2012 and close on 1st May, at 23:59, C.E.T.
One vote is one Facebook “like”, through the Daazo.com platform.
The online voting for the Online Competition Award closes on 1st of May, 2012 at 23:59 C.E.T.

The selection of the 6 films in the competition will be announced on 1st April, 2012 on Daazo.com.
The winning films of the Visegrad Shortfilm award and the Audience Award will be announced on 17th April in Budapest and online on www.daazo.com.
The Online Competition award will be announced on 1st May, 2012 on Daazo.com

Selection

Entrants who have their films selected in the competition agree to have their film screened in the four countries during the “Visegrad Shorts on Tour” event.
Entrants who have their films selected in the competition are to take part in the “Visegrad Shorts on Tour”, and travel with the tour to the four countries, as described in the general text of the competition.
Entrants who have their films selected in the competition agree to have their films online on the platform of Daazo.com - the European Shortfilm Centre for an unlimited period of time.
Entrants who have their films selected in the competition, and the winners of the competition agree not to delete their films from the online of platform of Daazo.com - the European Shortfilm
Centre.

The Tour

The selected participants agree to take part in the entire tour. Once the tour commences, the participants are obliged to take part in the tour until the tour ends.
Accommodation and travel expenses in all four countries are covered by the organizers.
The organizers will only cover travel expenses taking place in the Visegrad region.
Meals will not be covered by the organizers.
The participants taking part in the tour are obliged to buy a travel health insurance for the whole duration of the tour. Daazo Film and Media Ltd. and its partners are not to be held responsible under any circumstances for any possible health problems/injuries.

Awards


Daazo Film and Media Ltd. and its appointed jury will hand out three awards: the Visegrad Shortfilm award, the online competition award and the audience choice award.
The Visegrad Shortfilm award consists of a total sum of 1000EUR.
The Online Competition award consists of a “Lomokino” analogue filming kit from Lomography.com.
The Audience Choice Award is a “Lomokino” analogue filming kit from Lomography.com and a sum of money raised during the offline screenings in the four countries.

Winners of the “Visegrad Shorts on Tour” agree to keep the winning films online on the platform of Daazo.com - the European Shortfilm Centre represented by Daazo Film and Media Ltd.

Jury

The films that will enter the competition will be chosen by Daazo Film and Media Ltd.
The jury that will award the Visegrad Shortfilm award consist of four delegated individuals from the project leader and partner organizations and one internationally acclaimed filmmaker (to be announced).

The project leader is Daazo Film and Media Ltd. The partner organizations are: OZ Publikum.sk (Slovakia), Kino Praha (the Czech Republic) and Polishorts (Poland).

Copyright

Short films that are submitted must be the entrants’ original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all required permissions regarding music, sound and/or images presented in their short film.
By entering the competition, Entrant agrees that Daazo Film and Media Ltd. will not be held liable for any copyright infringements perpetrated by Entrant or their short film.
Daazo Film and Media Ltd. reserves the right to not screen any film(s) for any reason it deems valid.

The General Terms of Use specified on Daazo.com and accepted by users when uploading their films apply to the whole duration during which the films are available online.
