What is Daazo?
Daazo Film and Media Ltd. is a Hungarian-based company, which main activity is to run Daazo - The European Short Film Centre, an online network for hosting professional short films. Besides Daazo.com, the company also creates and manages websites; producing short films and web-videos; realising graphic design works; publishing magazines. The project was created by Zoltan Aprily and Daniel Deak. Daazo.com is now an emerging project for archiving and presenting European short films.
Daazo.com is an open platform - anyone is welcome to upload their short film to Daazo, now also available for download as an app for smartphones and for Samsung Smart TVs.
On Daazo.com, film lovers are invited to watch regular film premieres, follow or take part in film competitions and find out about short film news and updates.
The magazine World of Shorts (WOSH), published by Daazo.com, debuted in 2011 on the occasion of the Cannes Film Festival with great success. From 2012, WOSH will be published quarterly, both online and in print, for the Berlinale, Cannes and Sarajevo film festivals and the Visegrád Shorts events. About the founders:
Zoltan Aprily
Zoltan was born in Budapest. He is a co-founder and owner of Daazo.com, a short film sharing site supported my the MEDIA programme (together with Daniel Deak). Recently he has been focusing on different types of web-based distribution of short films. Zoltan also teaches video journalism at the Art Theory and Media Institute of ELTE University. Even more, he is the co-editor-in-chief of World of Shorts magazine which is now dedicated to the short films of the Cannes IFF.
Daniel Deak
Daniel was born in Budapest where he lives and works. He loves to create, write and watch films, especially shorts. He manages Daazo.com (with co-founder Zoltán Aprily) - the MEDIA programme-supported short film sharing website. Also, he is the co-editor-in-chief of World of Shorts - the newest issue of the magazine is dedicated to the short film related programmes of the Cannes IFF.
