Introduction

Daazo is not a viral video site like many others. We aim to be the center of European short films, a site with quality content, a meeting point for filmmakers and film lovers. Daazo gives the chance for young directors, festivals and studios to introduce themselves trough an innovative easy-to-use interface.

Short films have always been an important segment of cinema. There’s no doubt that short films describe the face of our future film culture. "The Letter" by Michel Gondry, „Epilog” by Tom Tykwer, or "Nocturne" by Lars von Trier – young short film directors became trademarks of present European film. Short film is a genre in which filmmakers can try out their skills, new techniques, or ideas they wouldn’t dare to use in a feature film. It is a field of practice on one hand, and it is an excursion for already professionals on the other.
Nowadays short films are being more successful than ever. Appearing online, getting a wider range of audience, short films are made not only for film schools, or workshops, but for literally world wide distribution. We don’t know who will be the next distinguished director, or filmmaker of Europe or of the World, but we think that by creating an open panel for every filmmaker and film enthusiast to discuss and promote their works will be a great help of communication among these people. Not saying that we’ll may recognize some name in the future as talents of an always changing European cinema.

Aims

We found this site because we are obsessed with European cinema, and short films. We would like to collect as many European short fiction films as many is possible to create a still missing, ultimate short film collection on the web. We aim to gather filmmakers to build and participate a real, worldwide community and give a chance for these young, talented artists to distribute their films in a quality space.
