Suddenly a car arrives with a mysterious woman inside... Le retour du train - Synopsis A French village in the 1960s. People living their lives in their everyday manner. Isolated from the outside world, they are awaiting on the "event" that will change their lives. One day they read in the newspaper that the state will re-open fifty stations in the south of France. The village people are sure that their station will be affected and that this was the long awaited event that would change their lives. The film will depict colorful characters representing the main village authorities - a simple-minded mayor, a nostalgic retired railway worker, an impertinent priest and a rigid merchant. These will be the initiators of a collective delirium that will involve the whole village. This masquerade will be seen through the eyes of Sophie, a young girl whose dream is to leave the village and despite her age she will prove to be the only wise voice amongst the small town.
