This is a short clip created for the "micro films for macro causes" film competition on the theme of "Poverty and Social Exclusion", included on the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion campaign. Shoot less than 8 hours, in documentary style, this film aims to be demonstrate that some things that for us might look simple and easy to achieve, might be almost impossible to others. Simple things like to participate in this contest, requires that the participants know a bit on how to film, have access to a video camera, have access to a computer, know how to read and how to write, have friends to work with, etc.. In order to submit the film to the competition, participants need to have access to the Internet, introduce their names, address, telephone number, email address, etc.. Things that for many still not possible to have. So we decided to ask those people questions like: "Do you know how to do a film?" "Have you ever been to school?" "What do you need to make a film?" "What is that you own? What is actually yours? What is the most valuable thing that you have?" "Do you know how to read and how to write?" "Do you have friends?" "Where do you live?" "What is your name?" "What is your birth date?" "Can you give me your telephone number?" "Have you ever worked with a computer?" "Do you know what the Internet is?" "If you win 3000€ what would you do?" The responses strong, making the editing quite hard. It was difficult to cut all the footage to get only 3 minutes. Sometimes we forget that some of the most simple things in our life, are impossible to reach to many. How lucky we are and how sad this world can be! Has we won the competition and won 3000 €, we decided to share the prize with those that are in this video.
