My Street Films Budapest

Every street has its story, not every street has its film. Make it!
You do not have to film yourself or your street; what is most important is that the film fits in our film map which illustrates not only real places but also their diverse perceptions; so that we will find observational and portrait quarters there as well as experimental nooks where not only renegades meet. Do not worry, we will not leave you in the lurch; you will be able to choose from a range of our filmmaking workshops that will teach you the most important things you need to make your own film.
The makers of the best films will be able to experience the atmosphere of film festivals; the winner for the best director will be accreditation at Jihlava IDFF. Moreover, the winners will be able to enjoy the documentary film world for the rest of the year thanks to an unlimited access to the film catalogue of the portal. The winners will be able to show their films also on Budapest International Documentary Festival - BIDF.
So what are you waiting for? Upload your short film until the 7th of September, 2015!
Your street. Your film. Your My Street Films!
The extended deadline is the 14th of September!

----------------------------------KIRALY STREET BUDAPEST------------------------------------------------ LOCATED in Erzsebetvaros, at the boundary between the 6th and the 7th district of Budapest and it extends between Deak Ferenc ter and Lovolde ter approx. 1.6 kilometers in length, KIRALY | KING street used to be the outer boundary of the former Jewish quarter with stores and workshops. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TODAY ||| Kiraly street is quickly becoming a trendy part of Budapest - also known as Budapest's Design Street packed with restaurants, pubs, interior design and furniture stores, boutiques and modern art galleries. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GRAFITTI ||| As KING street went up to many transformation during the time, this transition period was marked by graffiti's which cover all over different surfaces of buildings: doors, windows, walls, stone, iron, glass, wood, etc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But even if having a long history in street art GRAFITTI'S ARE STILL TABU in many countries: it is art or it is an act of vandalism? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The video expresses this eternal debate: the Mayor's Office commanded the erase of the * scribbles *, but every time one graffiti is washed down another one is painted back all over again and again. -----------------------This is why I manipulate the video: by reversing the image instead of seeing the disappearance of the graffiti's we see them appearing again.---------------------------- The erased surface creates a new platform where artists put their signature again and also expands their creativity as they have to come up with a new message every time, but this gesture also expresses their resistance against the Mayor's Office decision. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a place in Kispest which is our place. It is ours meaning not only in the strict sense of the word but this place reflected us. Our work, togetherness, happiness, awareness and the surrounded love. Would like to come in? /This film was effected by local communal initiation. Produced by a civil organization which badinage to Kispest Like most of the creators./
In the middle of nowhere, there is a pointless, yet guarded, gate with a huge, slow moving, queue waiting to pass through. A little guy, not wanting to play along with the system, tries to step out and walk away, however, others in the queue just keep forcing him back, to obey the rules.
