Israel between East and West

The Israeli Cultural Institute in Budapest and are now calling for short films of all genres to be submitted for their online film contest. The submitted films should be up to 15 minutes in length and reflect the motto of the contest “Israel between East and West”. The competition is open to filmmakers from the Visegrad countries: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

Entries must be uploaded to and added to the “Israel between East and West” contest.

Submission deadline: 15th March, 2014

“If one was a sultan, he would certainly have a harem...” The main character, Michael, is a ladies’ man. His charisma and brutal bristle never fail to attract women of all ages. But can one wanton away his life and still make art? Maybe Michael merely cribs from Dali? His ex-wife comes around to seek aid in handling their daughter’s problems, but Michael is wrapped in verses.
I keep looking into myself if Madrid is my city. I came here more than 7 years ago from a place 9546 km. far away from here. With the daylight I feel foreigner no matter nobody can tell unless I speak.
This movie discovers woman's contradiction between her dependence on a sexual partner and at the same time, her willingness to escape from his hold on her. Main heroin of the movie, Sveta, is tormented by a hidden fear that spoils her relationship with her young boyfriend. He leaves her alone in a park losing hope of even a kiss; during all the time she thinks about her ex-lover.....
